How a 12-year old made $1400 in one week with AI

(Editor’s note: I licensed this case study, so this is not about My 12 year old son. When my son was 12, there was no such thing as AI. Now that there is, if you have a young child, you should be inspired to help him or her create an excellent income stream of their own. It sure beats many of the alternatives.)

First off, I should say that he had a lot of help from me.

I’ve been marketing online for over 20 years, so he was almost guaranteed to make money with me guiding him along the way.

Second, the $1400 was gross sales.  Net profit was less than half of that.

Although that’s not much, this was a very valuable experience for him.  You can’t teach this kind of stuff in school.  Most teachers who teach business have never even started their own business!

If he continues to work in this business, I’m sure his results will get better each time.

How We Did It

He made the $1400 by launching a set of Children Stories with Private Label Rights.

Private Label Rights means that you can edit, rebrand, and resell the product.

So, buyers of our Children Stories were allowed to resell them.

The platform we used to launch these stories was WarriorPlus.  It’s a platform where many products for the Internet Marketing and Make Money Online niche are sold.  Products with PLR or Resale Rights attached do well on there.

The Funnel

We actually weren’t planning on selling anything else in the backend.

I wanted to keep it simple for my son.

The main product was just going to be the 100+ Children’s stories that he created.

But a few days before launch, I came up with the idea of offering a membership in the upsell.

So, the funnel looked like this:

Front end: 100+ PLR Children’s Stories + eCovers for $14 (on a dime sale)

Upsell: Subscription to a monthly membership to receive 20+ PLR Children’s Stories every month for $17 per month or, $47 one time for Lifetime Membership

We offered 50% commission to affiliates and held a contest for affiliates to motivate them to promote our product.

On the fifth or sixth day of launch, we placed a countdown timer on the sales page to let them know that the price was going to increase on the 7th day.

This created urgency and helped push fence sitters to make a purchase.

After the launch, we increased the price to Front End price to $19.95.

The Results

It was a one-week launch that generated $1400 in sales.  And sales are still trickling in.

Our net profit was less than half of $1400 after you subtract the commissions and prizes that we paid out to affiliates who won the contest.

We also got fresh new buyers added to our list, which will result in more affiliate commissions and product purchases in the future.

The Tools We Used

To create the Children Stories, he used ChatGPT.

He asked ChatGPT to create children’s stories that each contained a valuable lesson.

To create the eCovers, he used Canva.  He also used Canva’s AI to generate the images for the eCovers.

To create a sales copy, he used ChatGPT.

To create the website to host the sales page and download pages, he used my Groove account.

I also used Groove to create the JV page and I contacted affiliates to promote.  So, in a way, I was the JV manager.

The autoresponder we used to collect leads was GetResponse.  I’ve been using this autoresponder for probably a decade now and I highly recommend it.

Looking forward…

My other son, who’s 8 years old, loved watching his 12-year-old brother create stories on ChatGPT.  And now, he wants to do it too.  So, stay tuned for my case study on how my 8-year-old made money online LOL.

As for my 12-year-old son, he’s motivated to make more money so you can expect to see more products from him.

If you have children, I hope this Case Study has given you ideas on how to get your children to start their own business.  Starting a business is truly empowering.
